Kim Luurtsema is a respite provider for families who have children with disabilities. She’s had over 50 children stay in her home over the past 15 years. She’s been a special education teacher for CLC Network, and taught classes for children who are homeschooled. Kim served as Children's Ministry Director for her church and serves on the board of Friday Addition, which provides classes as an extension of home education. Barbara Newman is a church and school consultant for CLC Network. She is the author of Helping Kids Include Kids with Disabilities, The Easter Book, and Autism and Your Church: Nurturing the Spiritual Growth of People with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has written curriculum for Friendship Ministries, serves as a freelance writer for Joni & Friends, and is a frequent national speaker at educational conferences and churches.
