Researchers, teachers, and other child specialists have been expanding their study and treatment of social skills development in children and adolescents during the past decade. Use of positive social skills has been linked to academic gains, self-esteem, and resilience. During our time together, we will examine the research and develop some strategies that we can use to teach and promote the use of productive social skills in our elementary and middle school classrooms.
