Audience: All Staff
Join us for a Master Class session with Betsy Winkle, S.Psy.S. as we discuss the impact of trauma within the classroom. This class will be conducted as a small group discussion using anonymous case studies (e.g. a student with whom you have worked and are able to present using no personally identifying information), and an examination of best practices related to the case studies presented. There are three goals for our time together:
- Develop an in-depth awareness of how students influenced by trauma present and perform in the classroom setting, and identify factors that intensify their behavioral and emotional needs.
- Develop specific strategies and explore relevant tools that can be used to address the emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students impacted by trauma in the classroom.
- Brainstorm interventions and strategies that can be used on a school-wide basis to promote an atmosphere of acceptance and security for trauma-affected students.
This class is limited to the first ten registrants. Participants must have attended a CLC Network trauma training (or webinar) prior to attending this Master Class.
This in-service is only available in-person to staff at CLC Network Member Schools. Please contact us at 616-245-8388 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
