Embedding picture cues in the form of icons and printed words into instruction can be instrumental in improving the acquisition and maintenance of academic and developmental skills in students with disabilities in the classroom. Visuals serve as teaching aids to provide students with additional information to support processing, memory, attention, participation, and independence. These supports allow for scaffolded content and differentiation to help meet the needs of a range of diverse learners. From images to support content, visual cues to reinforce behavior, graphic schedules to increase independence, we will explore go-to resources to find and create material.
This in-service is only available in-person to staff at CLC Network Member Schools. Please contact us at 616-245-8388 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
